Why MOWAK?

A little crazy at heart. Serious about what we build.

MOWAK stands for Monkey With A Knife, inspired by a popular Chilean saying: “Más peligroso que mono con navaja” - roughly, “as dangerous as a monkey with a knife.”

But to us, it's not about danger. It's about the restless, curious, and fearless spirit that drives us to challenge conventions and turn bold ideas into reality.

It's the same curiosity that made us take apart electronic toys as kids just to figure out how they worked... and, with a little luck, put them back together.

That spirit lives in our mascot, a mischievous monkey representing our creative and unconventional side. Our corporate logo, meanwhile, reflects our commitment to thoughtful design, engineering, and quality.

Because bold ideas deserve serious execution.

We may look professional on the outside. But deep down?

We're still monkeys with knives.

Our Story

A Note from Our Founder

MOWAK Games was born from a passion that has been with me since childhood.

Growing up in the 1980s, I discovered home video game consoles, 8-bit computers, arcades, and pinball machines. They sparked a lifelong fascination with technology, design, and the magic of play.

I still remember those gaming nights with friends: renting movies and games, grabbing pizza and drinks, and playing until sunrise. Or visiting those small, not-so-fancy arcade spots with the coins we'd gathered, challenging each other in fighting games or battling endless waves of enemies together. We didn't need much to make unforgettable memories.

That passion never faded. Over the years, I built my own joysticks and arcade machines, simply for the joy of creating and playing.

Decades later, I wondered: What if we could bring some of that magic back into our homes, without needing a big game room?

That's how MOWAK Games was born.

Today, we combine modern technology, thoughtful design, and creative engineering to reimagine classic gaming experiences and make them accessible to everyone.

The magic of play is meant to be shared, generation after generation.
